In Western herbalism, feverfew is used for its anti-inflammatory and emmenagogue properties and traditionally assists with headaches, migraines, colds, and flus. Modern research suggests that regular supplementation of feverfew may reduce migraine attacks or severity of symptoms. In these studies, patients usually have to take feverfew consistently for several weeks before seeing effects. It is also known for alleviating menstrual symptoms. Feverfew has a long history of use, dating back as far as first century AD, used by ancient Greek physicians. In Traditional Chinese medicine, it is called Xiao Bai Ju and is used to Tonify Yin and Clear Heat. In Western herbalism, it is recommended to be taken up to 4 times per day for migraines and headaches.*
