Dragon's blood is an herb that is naturally formed from the resin of "dragon trees". In Western herbalism, it is customarily used topically on wounds and sores. It is known to have hemostatic, vulnerary, antibacterial and antifungal properties. In Traditional Chinese medicine, it is known as Xue Ji and is applied externally to wounds in powder form. Modern studies show that dragon's blood’s specific polyphenol compounds, when applied topically to an injury, bind to enzymes and proteins which may promote faster healing. It is also thought to serve as protection or even eliminate fungus and bacteria. It may also be ingested for internal ailments such as irregular menstruation and can help reduce symptoms of blood stagnation.*
