Calendula - Calendula officinalis

1 oz.

Calendula, commonly known as pot marigold, can be used both topically and internally. In Western herbalism, calendula is widely used to treat superficial injuries such as burns, cuts, bruises, etc. It is known to have Blood-moving properties and antiinflammatory properties, which may influence wounds to heal faster by inducing blood flow to the injury. It is also considered to have carminative, emmenagogue, and diaphoretic properties. It may be ingested by drying the leaves and flowers of the plant and using it in a tea. Calendula has a neutral, spicy, bitter taste. Traditionally, this herb is ingested as a tea because it may help regulate the menstrual cycle, induce sweating to kill fever, and soothe stomach aches. Do not use calendula if pregnant or breastfeeding.*
