Astragalus - Astragalus membranaceus

In Western herbalism, astragalus is regarded as an herb that has immunomodulator, diuretic, and antibacterial properties. It has a warming action and a slightly sweet taste and an ascending energy. In Chinese herbalism, astragalus is known as Huang Qi and is customarily used to Tonify the body for Qi deficiency, and as an immune tonic. Astragalus is usually consumed by being boiled directly into tea. Do not use astragalus for excess Heat symptoms and Yin-deficiency Heat.*
