Angelica is an herb that is native to the Middle East that has been implemented since the 10th century as a vegetable and medicinal plant. Historically, Angelica has been widely used in cooking and is prepared very similarly to asparagus. It can also be used as a garnish, tea, side dish, or filling. Angelica has a warming action and a bitter taste. In Chinese Herbalism, Angelica is well known for its many uses such as: treating coughs and fevers, regulating the menstrual cycle, and improving warmth and circulation. Angelica should not be used if one has a diabetic tendency.*
